I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but since this book has none I thought it might be helpful for someone in the future. I read this in preparation for a pilgrimage to Lourdes and found it very interesting. It was written about thirty years after the apparitions to encourage more English speaking visitors to make the journey to Lourdes. Since it's kind of an old-fashioned travel guide, the author takes a lot of time describing the town, the shrine, and the pilgrims. I thought it was neat from a historical perspective to read what a pilgrimage to Lourdes was like not that long after the apparitions took place, as well as visiting today and being able to compare the similarities and differences. It's a short read, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has been or is planning to go to Lourdes.
