Belurmath Pilgrimage

Rate this book
A pilgrimage is a journey or search of moral or spiritual significance. Typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to a person's beliefs and faith, although sometimes it can be a metaphorical journey into someone's own beliefs. --from Wikipedia

Well known for its architectural elegance, clean environs, sacred associations and spiritual atmosphere, Belur Math was founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1898. Located on the western bank of the Ganges River, these headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are a haven of peace for devotees and pilgrims from throughout the world.

This guidebook provides information and guidelines for devotees on a pilgrimage to Belur Math, Dakineswar, and other sacred places associated with Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Appendices provide addresses of pilgrim centers, time and distance tables between centers and suggested readings. A fold out map of Belur Math is included in the back of the book. This is an indispensable guide.
