The Lone Ranger and Tonto ride into Beacon City just after Tom Turner's publishing officers are destoyed and he is nearly killed by Cardigan's gunslingers. The current Sheriff Tweed is a good man turned weak, ruined by liquor and hard times. The townsfolk call him 'Tumblewkkd' and Ace Cardigan calls his shots. Can the Lone Ranger turn the derelict sheriff into a man again and put a fallen town back on its feet?
Fran Striker (born Francis Hamilton Striker) (August 19, 1903 – September 4, 1962) was an American writer for radio and comics, best known for creating The Lone Ranger, The Green Hornet, and Sgt. Preston of the Yukon
One of the best books in the series, If your a TLR fan this will be a kind of chicken soup for you. We see the Ranger at all of his resourcefulness as well as Tonto. Even when the Ranger is badly injured we wonder if this character will ever rise again. This was also the favorite book of the TLR historian Dave Holland who wrote A Pictorial History of The Lone Ranger. A great book with some of the best things about the Lone Ranger on display.
