The breakdown of every aspect of managing and caring for the dirt, buildings, and animals is well thought out in this easy read.

You have to scale the information to meet your property needs; so, if you only have a small lot in town be prepared to ignore the how to care for your dairy cows. However, a section on chickens may be helpful.

Caring for your pasture is easy to scale down to your small backyard as well as things to consider as you take on projects around any home regardless of scale.

This is probably the best book for someone moving from the city to the country, and even better if the rural purchase is just land needing improvements and structures.

The short is this is a super good book in that it has a ton of info and you don’t necessarily need to read chapter by chapter. You can jump around and simply enjoy where the journey takes you.
