This book is essentially a mix of local Black Country (for those who don’t know, an area in the West Midlands in the UK) supernatural history and the last half a collection of eye witnesses accounts of ghost sightings and experiences that the author has collected.
I preferred the first half of the book, looking at the history behind the supposed hauntings, and being local and grew up in this area, its interesting to hear these stories from my neighbourhood. The series of people’s ghost stories are a mix between interesting to dull.
Whether it would appeal as much to readers not familiar to the area I have my doubts, but those interested in local ‘spooky’ history might give this a quick read, as it can easily be finished in a day or two.
