This was an interesting book to read. It's written in a very romantic style with very flowery language and syntax, breaking out into actual poetry from time to time. It refreshes some French mythology (e.g., Loup Garou) and transplants it to Detroit, a clear attempt to give a young city some history. It also retells and recasts a number of Native American myths and folklore, again in the context of Detroit. Hey, guys. Detroit is pretty awesome. And they're stories about it. Old stories. Glad it's out of copyright protection, I'll likely lift a few passages from it for my next NaNo writing project.
