About the author

As the mother of five sons, now grown, Karen loves to write about real people dealing with the drama (and humor) of everyday life. Over the past fifteen years, Karen has written nearly 50 books for Harlequin/Silhouette and Red Dress Ink, and three of her Special Edition titles (A Mother's Wish (2009) Welcome Home, Cowboy (2011) and A Gift for All Seasons (2013) have won the RITA award, the romance industry's top prize for published authors. In addition, her November 2014 title, Santa's Playbook, earned the Romantic Times Gold Seal of Excellence, out of the hundreds of releases reviewed by the magazine for that month.

Hero and heroine were best friends as children, then she left to be a lawyer in NYC, until she came back to visit Mom. She and hero fell into bed, just to see what it would be like, and now she’s pregnant. But she won’t marry him—just came home to tell him. Then she loses her job in NYC. There’s complications—she has abandonment issues, he has other issues—it’s all very well done, and all comes out right in the end.

A lovely heart-warming tale of two old friends who unexpectedly find love and romance, in their hometown, which she couldn't wait to leave, and he never left. Excellent, intriguing characters, and lots of plot twists will keep readers turning the pages.
