This album presents the Polish National Museum's collection of costumes, fabrics, decorations, and accessories dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Polish fashions in this richly illustrated work depict aristocratic and upper class attire, which was heavily influenced by the Russian tsarist court, with elements from the French periods of the Bourbons, the French Revolution, and Napoleon. The personal adornments on these pages demonstrate the upper class’ need to always display a refined sense of fashion and taste.
