This is an ok shoujo manga in every sense of the word - there's nothing wrong with it, there's also not much that makes it stand out. That is, besides the fact that it's about billiard. And granted, that makes it pretty unique, but that doesn't mean it's particularly interesting to me.
I like Sakai's art and even this earlier work is better than others of the genre, yet it is definitely nowhere near as refined as her newer works. The characters are fine, they're quite typical but definitely not unlikeable. The plot mainly revolves around our two main characters wanting to play billiard and a few family and school hiccups along the way. The romance is cute but an absolute minor part of the plot, there's not even a kiss scene so I find it quite funny that this is labeled as romance at all.
Once again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this but I think you have to be interested in billiard to really get anything out of it. Take away the billiard, which I was not interested in, and you don't have much left.
Mika is a regular girl who just goes day to day without any concrete dreams for her future. Until one day, when she sees her classmate Kaede playing pool in a billiards lounge. Kaede is a boy who hides many secrets... whose personality seems to change when he plays billiards. Entranced by the smile Kaede wears when he plays, Mika soon finds herself immersed in the game...!
Seperti biasa Mayu sakai artnya keren. tapi sayangnya gw kurang suka sama jalan cerita yang kayak begini... but, it was ok lah~^^
