Ο Καλλιφατίδης φαίνεται να πιστεύει πως οι γυναίκες το μόνο που σκέφτονται είναι το σεξ, ανίκανες να ασχοληθούνε με κάτι άλλο όταν πχ. εξιχνιάζουν μια φριχτή υπόθεση...
Με ξενέρωσε απίστευτα το male gaze, πανταχού παρών καθ' όλη την διάρκεια του βιβλίου.
Η υπόθεση παρ' όλ' αυτά είχε κάποιο ενδιαφέρον, έστω κ αν βρήκα το τέλος λίγο απότομο.
Ότι πρέπει για διάβασμα στην παραλία μέχρι να σε πάρει ο ύπνος, τίποτε περισσότερο.

The second Kallifatides novel I have read.

Nicely written and easy reading. As crime novels should be. The plot was recycled as so often happens. Nothing new under the sun. Happened in Sweden which is so "close to home" that it gives a bit extra interest as you can think you understand the mentality of the people a bit better.

Usually in crime fiction there tends to be some kind of climax in the end. This time it was missing. I don't know whether that was a bad thing but when you expect something special to happen...
Somewhat more I was disturbed by Kallifatides' tendency of putting some lame and almost childish expressions and sentences in the middle of good text. You know those things that make you say "c'mon" in your mind.

This was quite ok, but not quite excellent :-) Good entertainment anyway.

I came here after the book Ett nytt Land utanför mitt fönster and I was a bit disappointed.
The plot was weak and after some time I was tired of reading the book. It made me think that the writer was also tired himself while he was writing the story.
I loved though the sharp comments about the swedish society. Kallifatidis tried to reveal different perspectives of the swedish society, covering things like loneliness, hypocrisy in a less than perfect society.

Intressant idé med en sjätte passagerare, men nej boken föll mig inte i smaken. För många karaktärer med märkliga beteenden och för mycket perversion.

Η μόνη αντίρρησή μου σε αυτό το βιβλίο είναι ότι λίγο πριν το τέλος ο συγγραφέας δείχνει σαν να κουράστηκε και ο ίδιος από την ιστορία ή τους ήρωές του και φρόντισε να δώσει ένα γρήγορο και σχηματικό τέλος, σαν για να τους ξεφορτωθεί μια για πάντα (μια και δεν νομίζω να υπήρξε ποτέ συνέχεια στις περιπέτειες της Κριστίνα Βάντελ). Κρίμα όμως γιατί κατάφερνε με την πολυπρόσωπη αφήγησή του να δώσει βάθος και προσωπική ιστορία σε κάθε ήρωα που δεν ήταν επ’ ουδενί ένα δημιούργημα για την εξέλιξη της πλοκής και μόνο. Και το σχόλιο πάνω στην Σουηδική κοινωνία είχε και της σχολής των Σκανδιναβικών, δηλαδή περισσότερο κοινωνικών παρά αστυνομικών μυθιστορημάτων, ήταν.

Luin suomenkielisen version "Kuudes matkustaja". Todella erikoisesti kirjoitettu/käännetty. Dialogi oli jollakin tavalla todella outoa, lauseet lyhyitä ja töksähteleviä. Häiritsevää. Tarina ihan jees, mutta siitä oli vaikea pitää kiinni kun teksti yritti irrottaa koko ajan.

Disappointing, mainly because of the way this story is written. Dialogues are rarely just literally written down, merely described. It makes you move further from the story.

Comme dans le précédent, mais de manière encore plus importante, les problèmes des enquêteurs prennent le pas sur l'intrigue. Dommage!
