Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. I'm a bit ignorance toward the American civil war hence not sure what "southern cause" actually entails.
Based on the author's narratives, I came with three hypotheses as to why James brothers' made a success as outlaws:
1) they were the result of circumstances;
2) they were born with it; or
3) combination of (1) and (2) that created a perfect storm.
From my uneducated mind, they seemed to possessed psychopathy tendencies and harnessed them to their advantage, enabling them to succeed amid adversity.
The narratives of the James brothers' was intriguing. However, I'm not a fan of the author's prose and his writing style--too cheesy for my liking.

Very good story of the James boys A very different one to I have yet to read one quite like this before or since.
I have yet to read a story quite like this about the James boys. It is written while he is still alive so I think that's what makes it so good.
