Forward thinking in approach, this book emphasizes model-formulation and model-building skills. Winston includes material for a three-semester course, organized into self-contained units that provide flexibility in selecting material. Requiring a background in calculus, linear algebra, and statistics, OPERATIONS RESEARCH offers comprehensive coverage for applications-oriented courses in linear or mathematical programming and stochastic and probabilistic models and processes at the undergraduate and graduate level.

A very good book, far better than Taha's and Liebermann's books, author deeply discussed all the critical points, there is just one thing to criticize perhaps there are too many replications, in explanations summaries formulas etc.. the size of the book could be 40 % smaller. It is a little heavy to carry.

Did this author fell asleep when writing this book? Very boring narrative style. The CD helped with the practical exercises. I could not follow the method explanation in the book always. UNISA used only the CDROM!! I was very upset when I realized this.

The example are actually from previous chapter.
And the explanation needs extra understanding if your English are intermediate.
