SERIES JONAS is undeniably the hottest rock band on the planet, but behind the cool clothes and sleek guitars, Nick, Kevin, and Joe Lucas are just three guys from New Jersey who are living their dream. They attend a local private school, live at home with their parents and little brother, Frankie, and hang out with friends. Though traces of their superstardom can be found everywhere—the school uniforms that they’ve personalized, their bodyguard, Big Rob, who appears at school unannounced, and the vending machines in the Lucas home—the boys are naturally down to earth. Disney Channel will undoubtedly have another hit on their hands with this sure-to-be-rockin' series, JONAS !
JONAS #1 Wild Hearts Joe, Nick, and Kevin Lucas love touring with their band, JONAS. But after weeks on the road, they are more than ready to get back to their normal life. It turns out, however, that normal life is full of drama, too! When Van Dyke Tosh asks Stella, the brothers’ best friend and stylist, to the movies, Joe gets jealous. To keep Stella busy, he decides to call an emergency wardrobe meeting. But when Stella finds out that there is no emergency, will she forgive Joe, or will she prove that all’s fair in love and war—including payback! And Joe isn’t the only brother feeling torn by love. When Nick puts his heart on the line for a girl, he’ll risk getting totally crushed.
This is my first time reading a book written by Catherine Hapka.
I am a fan of the Jonas TV show, a Disney Channel Original Series. I was excited to read the book "Wild Hearts" which is based on the series. Part One is based on the episode, "Fashion Victim." Part Two is based on the episode, "Wrong Song."
This book is amusing and entertaining. I love the sibling interactions and the boy/girl high school crushes! I laughed out loud at the hilarious jokes! If you are a fan of the TV show or a fan of the Jonas Brothers, this is a fun book to read. The book mirrors the TV show episodes very well.
"She recognized that look on Joe's face. And it meant trouble with a capital T. And a capital R-O-U-B-L-E, too. With an exclamation point at the end. Maybe two" (pg. 34).
There are colorful photos and captions from the TV show inserted within the pages. How fun is it to see Bridgit Mendler (from Disney's Good Luck Charlie) playing Nick's crush, Penny!
"Joe didn't panic. As a member of JONAS, he'd had to cover for stuff that went wrong onstage plenty of times. He knew how to play it cool" (pg. 102).
I loved the trick ending in Part two: THE END... well, not quite... THE END (really this time).
"Joe assured (Nick). "You're just... really, really intense. Which is sad for you - but lucky for the band, 'cause we get great songs out of it" (pg. 112).
