With friends gathered around, the travelling minstrel Valdevo Baudelaire shares some of his most adventurous tales, tales of gallantry, great courage, strife, and woe, of tricks and mischief, heroes and villains, and light and darkness. Dragons, fairies, humans, dwarves, and elves alike come together to fight the deadly, demonic army of a dark lord, while kings contest for rule, powerful wizards help those in need, magical swords empower the brave, and knights vie for love and honour.
Full of wisdom and fun, this collection of short stories will bring readers into a high fantasy world of epic portions. So, embrace your mystical side and let your imagination wander as you kickback and enjoy reading The Tales of Rithanon.

i really enjoyed this book! the world building and fleshing out of the characters was done really well. i loved that the start of the book had a map, which definitely helps with how the world building is such a success. the writing in general was great, the attention to detail and how the story progressed, the characters and the setting; it was all really enjoyable. the story didn’t feel like it was rushed or dragged on and the chapters are easy to follow. the story flowed well. i loved how the first pages of the chapters looked like old paper as well.
i feel like this would be a good book for kids to have an introduction to the genre, like if your child likes lord of the rings and wants something to read with the lore or dragons, elves, etc then this book would be great. it’s not hard to digest and can be read quite swiftly :) kevin johnson is a wonderful writer and i can’t wait to see any future work he publishes
This is an amazing book - quite immersive, as it sounds like a fairy tale indeed. The worldbuilding is great as well.
The plot develops naturally, whereas the author uses some classic but very effective storytelling techniques.
At the beginning, some maps are shown, which seems helpful and imaginative at the same time. The writer uses poetry and verse all around. Apparently, a talented one.
Set in the Middle Ages, the short stories reveal a world of dragons, battles, knights, bravery, wisdom, fantasy, magic and a pinch of philosophy. All that mixed with a great sense of humor, nonetheless.
Interestingly, the writer appears to be relatively young, possessing an impressive biography and family background. He also mentions his liking for a certain type of computer games involving adventures and quests.
Recommended to young adults, parents and teenagers.
The Tales of Rithanon is a collection of fantasy short stories set in the kingdom of Rithanon.
I was intrigued by the premise because the stories are actually folktales in a sense told to the readers by the travelling minstrel Valdevo Baudelaire, a character in the book.
While I found some stories more interesting than others, which is usually the case for me with short story collections, I liked the fact that the worldbuilding was truly expansive and immersive. I also liked the rhymes at the end of each story.
I think this collection would be enjoyable for any fantasy lover, and there's a lot of room for further development of the characters and plots.
Thank you to Booktasters and the author who gave me a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I feel this Book would do better if it's created into small books for children. All of the stories created a vibrant image for me and at the same time talked in the most simplest words and each chapter has a lovely ending If each of the chapter is broken into small children books it could create a world for them where they can enjoy a different world and charcters each time For adults who enjoy detailed visual description and are looking for a more visual book in terms of writing would enjoy this book for sure .Each and every story is beautifully written .
First I would like to thank BookTasters and the author for giving me a free copy to read in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a collection of fantasy, mythical, adventurous stories for all ages. All of the stories are short. Nice collection of short stories which could be, if the author decides to, created into novels if the plot of almost all the stories are developed with character developments and the plot expanded. The stories are exciting and reminds of the stories that most readers have read growing up.
Every character in this book is really very much interesting. This book is for everyone who loves adventures. The story is as much as interesting as the characters. I will suggest everyone to read this book.
