Dr. McFiddle is a scientist, witch, and someone who specializes in conflict resolution. By teaching Jasmine, Dr. McFiddle helps her, as well as the readers, to learn different skills needed to handle conflict productively. Using potions, elixirs, and other enchanted tools from her mysterious bag called “Old Matilda”, Dr. McFiddle shows children various skills, including how to empathize, be assertive, creatively problem-solve, find hidden interests, and manage emotions. By the end of the book children will not only have been entertained, but they will have learned essential skills for dealing with all the conflicts that arise in their life.
