A concise and lucid overview of the key criticism -- from early reviews to twenty-first commentaries -- surrounding the popular genre of Victorian "sensation" fiction.
As it says in the blurb, it's an "overview of criticism" about sensation fiction, so unfortunately I couldn't find anything new in particular. I felt like the author's own voice got lost among the large chunks of quotations (which are almost on every page). However, there are not many books written on sensation writers and their works as they have gained popularity in recent years, so this book can still be considered a good addition to the field for beginners.
