Strictly for tourist purpose, this book is for formal and essential know about of Qutb (or Qutub/Qutab/Kutub/Kutab, as you like it) and the surroundings of Mehrauli. Witnessing almost nine centuries of history, very rich and intriguing history for that matter, the area has so many excellent tales that a good story-teller would have done wonders with them. But our author is an esteemed academician whose chief interest is to state the history, as it is. In this regard Mr Pande has done an excellent job by providing just enough information that will make you an informed tourist but not an enlightened soul!
So don’t expect a great book rather go ahead, if you really want to, for a light read and get acknowledged with facts, measurements and dates which are irrelevant to you, but perhaps a requirement for a tourist book!
All i could think at the end of book is:
हाथ को आया, मूहँ ना लगाया!
