Romance For The Streets is a street lit meets romance anthology brought to you by three talented authors Marlon McCaulsky, Ben Blaze and K. Roland Williams. The stories had me engrossed and definitely had me wanting more from each author because the storyline and the author’s ability to hold the reader’s attention with creative storyline and perfect plot execution all the major components of a great read and the fact these were short stories indicated to me that the trio was indeed gifted writers.

My Boo- Tells a story of a teenage love and after many obstacles these two are often wondering can love truly conquer all?

By Your Side- Tells a tale of two who are in love and often blinded because of the drama, lies and abuse that goes on but the author tells a very vivid story that keeps your attention and also sending a message of the game has no loyalty.

For The Love of Money- The title says it all and this story is about three friends dealing with their own separate dramas and how they are intertwined is by the friendship and the love of cash. Right when life is supposed to be happy secrets resurface that makes on have to make the ultimate decision love or money.

The Streets Need Love Too!,

"Romance for the Streets" is a compilation of three authors: Marlon McCaulsky, Ben Blaze, and K. Roland Williams. Not big on anthologies and having never read any of these authors previously, I was curious as to what I was in store for.

'My Boo' by Marlon McCaulsky - Torn between loyalty to his best friend and his girlfriend, Larenz must make a decision that will affect his relationship with one or both.

`By Your Side' by Ben Blaze - Dominique thought that her relationship with Blahzay was a match made in heaven, as she promised to always be by his side. With the mental and physical anguish, she can't help but wonder if it's really a match made in hell.

`For Love or Money' by K. Roland Williams - Jasmine Brooks has finally found the man of her dreams, but the man of her nightmares won't go away so easily.

In the spirit of the recent Winter Olympics, I'm handing out medals. The coveted gold goes to Marlon McCaulsky. Not to take away from the others, his story just seemed to stand out or shine a little brighter than the others. I loved the chemistry between Larenz and Felicia.

In a close second, the silver goes to K. Roland Williams. His tale of romance for the streets took readers on the scenic route instead of going for the obvious, which was greatly appreciated.

Closing out the medals with a bronze is newcomer Ben Blaze. His story, while entertaining, veered the most away from the theme of romance for the streets. The unexpected twist sealed it.

"Romance for the Streets" overall was a satisfying read. A solid effort. Each author, to his credit, provided a complete and developed story within the confines of a short story. I could see myself checking for these authors in the future.

I noted that there were six editors acknowledged. I applaud the authors and the publisher for the effort as many today simply don't see the importance or care about quality anymore. So kudos, thumbs up and high fives for being apart of the solution and not the problem. However...with so many pairs of eyes reviewing this project, errors should have been minimal, if at all. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The obvious typos may have been caught and corrected, but the same cannot be said for punctuation. There were several instances of missing commas. (Example, page 18: What's up Felicia? Should be: What's up, Felicia? Example, page 117: Lil' Zay your daddy is here! Should be: Lil' Zay, your daddy is here. Example, page186: Alright Shell, I'm about ready. Should be: Alright, Shell, I'm about ready.) This was a good project. My suggestion is to find an editor with a firm grasp of grammar, particularly the use of punctuation. Editing is more than catching typos and misspellings.

"Romance for the Streets" is easily recommendable for anyone needing a quick fix of a lil' street loving.
