Glad Day Daily Affirmations: Daily Meditations for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender People

With this inspiring book of meditations, every day brings a reminder of "the wholeness and beauty of our nature, of the glad spirit that dances in each one of us."

Addressing the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, Glad Day speaks to the issues that touch everyone, regardless of sexual change, fear, self-disclosure, faith in a power greater than ourselves, success and failure, openness to ourselves and others.

Written with a poet's grace, these daily meditations are interwoven with reference to the transforming experiences of coming out and of recovery. As the meditations foster a "daily conversation with the Spirit," they lovingly conjure the mutual trust and compassion that lead to a rich, fulfilling life.

A powerful daily reader with quotes from TLGBQ+ authors and others framing each day’s reflection over recovery centering TLGBQ+ communities in its reflection. My favorite daily meditation I’ve found so far as a trans person in recovery. Holistic and intentional in its approach. Good for 12 step community members, sober curious folks, and all people striving for recovery in other means/spaces. I appreciate that the literature crosses many dimensions of possibilities of what it means to be in recovery, giving spiritual tools that leave interpretation open to each individual’s unique recovery journey and personal needs.

Hazelden produces many wonderful daily devotional resources for people in Recovery. And, like all others, this is a great daily source of inspiration and direction. This particular volume is aimed specifically toward those who are members of the LGBTQ community as well as the 12-step Recovery community. It does a wonderful job of connecting these two realities for people who find themselves both queer and addicted. A great resource toward health and healing.

I had intended to read one entry a day, as marked as daily, but I dashed through this enlightening meditative selection and now I’m done.

A tiny book with an affirmation for every day of the year. Intended to assist those going through recovery (complete with 12 AA steps in the back), but I found it uplifting regardless.
