Presents sculpture, paintings and other works of art, ranging from archaeological treasures to the Bayeaux Tapestry and Picasso's Guernica, that portray warriors and their gear, battle and its aftermath, and mock combats such as jousting.
Picked up the book from a free book warehouse. The copy has been withdrawn from a public school library. The author's writing is, at times, stilted. Some vignettes about the featured artworks end on a meandering note. Then again, it is an art history book from the 1960's (?). It served as good weekend reading.
