Helen Girdey "Zola" Ross, author of a variety of books including Western historical novels, mysteries, and children's books wrote primarily under the name Zola Ross, but also under Z.H. Ross, Helen Arre and Bert Iles. Zola was born May 9, 1907 in Iowa (though her birth year is often cited as 1912), and grew up in Nevada. After marrying she moved to Washington State and was a Seattle resident until her death on Nov. 14, 1989.

Cute book I found from back in the 50's I believe. I grabbed simply because it was a great-smelling old book & had the word Spokane. But it turned out to be a cute story.
