Is there really a monster in Lucy''s house or is it all in her imagination? Young readers can help Lucy o pen doors, cupboards and drawers, look under beds and behind sofas to see if they can find a monster. '
I LOVE 'There's a monster in my house', I remember reading this time and time again by myself after being read too as it was fun and memorable. The repetition, rhyming and illustrations throughout the book is clever enough to tell the story without being able to read the words on the page which is what makes this book memorable to me. The flaps make the story humorous and the simple picture puzzles on each double page makes it fun for children to enjoy together.
I loved reading There's A Monster In My House as a child. It is very interactive with flaps to search for the monster and a cute mouse to find on every page. If I remember correctly you can also search for a rubber ducky on every page. The rhythm of the story is pleasing when read aloud. The ending is unexpected and satisfying for the main character. Check this fun book out!
34 months - O really likes it because it's monster themed. Good for early reading rhyming words. If I remember correctly this one has a chart of the word families used in the book at the back.
