Ms. Ekejiuba ostensibly conducted extensive field research in preparing this detailed study of the Aro of southeastern Nigeria.
It is distressing to note, therefore, that elements of her text were lifted, with very little alteration, from the doctoral dissertation of a fellow graduate student -- a dissertation to which she had access in both draft and final forms.
Nowhere in her extensive footnotes or bibliography is there any mention of this dissertation or its author.
This is blatant plagiarism, and it discredits Ms. Ekejiuba’s scholarship.
