Accounting is essential for transparency in business affairs. It is the art of organizing, maintaining, recording, and analyzing financial activities. I'll be honest here; I took an accounting course in college, but I was so bored with it. I kept falling asleep. The Double-Entry Accounting method seemed pointless, and I had a lot of stuff on my mind at the time.

Accounting: the Easy Way attempts to demonstrate accounting principles in a simple manner. It contains plenty of examples, and it isn't hard to follow the chain of reasoning.

If you plan to become an accountant, this book does a great job of covering the basics. The solutions to the exercises are in the book.

I bought this book when I was developing GnuCash and I wanted to get a better handle on business accounting. This book is a good introduction to double-entry accounting for businesses.
