As dawn breaks, a stag deer awakens its offspring in order to show off the natural wonders of their habitat. The softly-colored, mostly green palette in every scene vividly depicts just how lovely that world is while the rhyming lines describe the relationship between God and the planet's living creatures. But it isn't enough to just admire the natural setting, the deer points out. In fact, there is a responsibility to be stewards and take care of it while also trusting in God's never wavering love. This sturdy board book is a gentle reminder that our world is precious, unique, and dependent on us to keep it healthy.

This was a gift from friends to our son at our baby shower. There is nothing inherently wrong with this book, it is just a little boring. I read it several times over the course of a weekend, and i still feel like i don’t know what it’s about. I think it’s basically just a deer explaining to her baby to enjoy and appreciate the nature around us as it’s part of God’s creation. It was fine but just nothing noteworthy. The pictures were very sweet.
Son’s review: This book seemed to wind him up for some reason - like he kept squiggling in his seat. Very entertained by this book! Maybe too entertained?
