While the national media turned a blind eye toward this trial, day by day the facts from the actual witnesses came forth to attempt to prove the truth behind what really happened on April 4th, 1968, to Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. This book is the actual trial transcript, from beginning to end with no editing, no deletions, no opinions or commentary. If you are comfortable with the result of James Earl Ray having been the assassin of Martin Luther King on 4 April 1968 then you should not read this book, The 13th Juror. I marked 25 incidents or statements in this 753 page book that, in my opinion, should have been investigated. Yet they were not investigated by the House Select Committee that was formed as the formal investigation of the death of Martin King. The book was an intensive look at details surrounding the assassination. A difficult read because it consists of nothing but the transcription (unedited-mistakes and all) of a court proceeding that began on November 15th, 1999. This Conspiracy Trial ran for 14 days. I rated the book with 3 stars only because I did not find it an enjoyable read with the transcript of the trial as it was written. But I suppose that was the intention of the book. For those with an open mind this book will give you pause to consider the many things that were observed by witnesses of the assassination and yet those witnesses were never questioned.
