First sentence: Bread. Cheese. Bread. Cheese. Bread.

Premise/plot: Bow-Wow is getting ready to enjoy a sandwich. But what does he want on his sandwich? This board book doubles as a concept book teaching patterns. But it is also a very simple--yet funny--story.

My thoughts: I enjoyed this one. It is 100% silly. It's a stretch to call it a concept book even. But even though there's not much to it--I couldn't help finding it charming. I don't know why I liked it so much. I just know that I do.

Nice early book on sequencing for littles! Bow-Wow is a great little dog that will have lots of appeal to littles. Bow-Wow wants his lunch bread, cheese, bread, cheese, bread, bread? Littles will figure it out! I love how expressive one small dog can be made to be with a very tiny slant of an eyebrow! Illustrations are big, simple and colorful. Might be a good read for ages 6 months to 5 years! I love Bow-Wow!

One of my favorite Bow-Wow books! Bow-Wow is putting together a sandwich and there is a certain order of the bread and cheese.

I'm stretching the purpose of this book a bit by putting it on our school skills shelf. It does portray patterns in very sparse text and clear illustrations. Bow-wow's expressions are pretty silly when the pattern is broken.
