Practical Statistics for Educators

Rate this book
Practical Statistics for Educators, Third Edition focuses specifically on the application of research and statistics to education. A clear and easy-to-follow text for the education student in a basic statistics course, this book serves as a resource for educators who need to conduct research. The Third Edition includes newly drawn graphs, an expanded index, and a revised and reorganized glossary that lists and defines the concepts and terms that are introduced in the book.

As was the case with the previous editions, a workbook is available for those who want to review, practice and apply the statistical concepts and materials presented in the text. The exercises in Professor Ravid's Workbook to Accompany Practical Statistics for Educators, Third Edition , coauthored with Elizabeth Oyer, have been modified to match the changes in this text. The workbook includes new exercises in Excel to allow students to perform data analysis using the computer. It is a useful and straightforward supplement to an already popular text.

As my textbook for my recent doctoral class, this book was a good supplement to the other course materials. Good, clear explanations and definitions of statistical analysis procedures.
