In-depth interviews with 18 National Teacher of the Year Award winners and finalists, offering practical advice to K-12 teachers on everything from classroom management, differentiated instruction, parental involvement, lesson planning, standardized tests, and more. Endorsed by the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Washington Post, and others, this book explores how some of the most effective teachers in the country implement theory and create engaging and vibrant classrooms.
As a teacher, what I enjoyed most about this book is the response each teacher gives to the question, "What is it about teaching you wish you knew then that you know now?" Teaching is a reflective science/profession. The constant "How can I do better as a teacher," is the life blood of teaching.
Well this is a first. I've only read the first interview. That's 25 pages, folks. And I've decided I need to buy this book. Excellent interview. I'm a homeschooler and can use this advice in my classroom of one.
