Connerton attempts to collect a wide range of articles from Hegel to Adorno, from German Idealism to Marx's materialism. by and large, this shows u a clear way to follow the direction of evolution of critical theory. one of the best point of this book is that connerton chooses some article on Hermeneutics. in my opinion, all the articles complete the critical theory puzzle except Lorentzer's article on symbol.

I picked this up cheap at the local library, and bought it to learn a bit more about the Frankfurt School of sociology and their trademark of critical theory. The book is 40 years old, but still, lots of people in academia seem to quote them.
