A review in layman's language, of the toxic effects of mercury at the cellular level. A revealing history of the mercury amalgam wars that have compelled the American Dental Association to take the incredible position that it has.
Dr. Myron Wentz holds a Ph.D. in microbiology with a specialty in immunology from the University of Utah. He founded Gull Laboratories in 1974 and developed the first commercially available diagnostic test for the Epstein-Barr virus. Later he founded USANA Health Sciences and the Sanoviv Medical Institute. In June 2007, Dr. Wentz was honored with the Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Life Sciences.
In recent years Dr. Wentz has turned his attention to charitable and humanitarian concerns, founding the Wentz Medical Centre and Laboratory in Uganda and the Wentz Medical Centre in Cambodia, serving children orphaned by diseases such as malaria and HIV. In 2006, Dr. Wentz was a recipient of the Children’s Champion Award, presented by the Children’s Hunger Fund.
A very informative book with many references to support the argument put forward that the use of mercury amalgams for filling teeth is the same of placing a poison in your mouth. The author argues the American Dental Association has underplayed the significance of this practice for profit and gain for individual dentists. He is especially strong on the harmful effects on expectant mothers and there yet to be born children. Like most arguments, there is always two sides to be considered, but this text weighs heavily on the side that use of mercury laden fillings is very dangerous and should be stopped. Fortunately, dental procedures have advanced and the use of such materials is certainly on the decline. Still, worth reading to be better informed on a very important and somewhat controversial subject.
I was a bit concerned while starting this book, but i ended up finding it breathtaking and saddening, i am definitely considering removing amalgams of mercury, and detoxifying the heavy metals, but i would like to find more recent evidence concerning the removal protocols.
