I have just started using Google Docs, having used Microsoft Word for so long. I have just purchased a Galaxy tab and find that all my word documents stored in the cloud will no longer allow me to edit on my device, even though I purchased Microsoft Office, for my laptop, some years ago. It now only allows me to edit my saved documents if I sbscribe to Office 365 every month. So now I'm learning Google Docs, it's free. Bearing in mind, the book states that it is for beginners, and I have some knowledge since using word, that has a similar setup, I gleened lots of useful info from the book. I think this book is excellent, and easy to follow with so many screenshots giving a graphic tutorial as you practice on your device. Again, having said it's for beginners, and I'm not truly a beginner, but I am as far as Google Docs is concerned. As the book progresses it goes into more advanced features, so, there is something here for most Docs users. Jus one caution, this is geared up for Google Docs for Windows, (and probably mac) which is 100% related to my laptop and windows, but on android devices, lots of features are missing or hidden, but what you can find on your device you can relate to in the book as far as using them. Some of the features on android are in drop down menus and need finding, which the book doesn't explain. None-the-less, I found the book really useful, and if the author writes a similar book for android devices I will buy that also.
This has answered some of my pertinent questions-kids' author??'s
I found it pretty helpful but it sure would be even better and powerful user guide if there was a Google Guide for newbie Children's author and illustrators for one to help writing and everything else a kids' diction book writer needs to know to Successfully upload these types of books Barrie. I really would recommend this as a five star book for those who use forms, slides and makes charts and presentations not so much though for Children's or up authors as this though. How about a cheat sheet for those who are kids' writers and illustrators who prefer to self publish their BG looks on Kimdle ( KDP) For instance who are starting from scratch in using Laptops and iPads. I bought this in hopes to have a real cheat sheet for writers kids and up. But in exchange for what helpnI was able to gain I wish to rate this as a five star book. Great text book guide Barrie!
