A delightful zoological adventure that leads you through the entirety of Holy Week. I love reading these stories -- yes, even reading it as an adult. Obviously the stories are intended for children, but anyone can enjoy it, and in fact, learn from these li'l creatures.

Each story is told through a different animal's point of view. It starts with a dog that Bartimaeus picks up off the road; the two of them become inseparable and are best buddies. This dog is there to witness Jesus healing Bartimaeus's blindness. This one may very well be my favorite in the whole book. But I love the story about the donkey that Jesus rode on into Jerusalem... the pigeons who saw Jesus overthrowing the money tables at the temple... the cat who was in the Upper Room at the Last Supper... the mouse who cried with Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane... the rooster who couldn't use his vocal chords, and yet who crowed twice... the Roman horse who questioned the punishments that the Roman soldiers were doling out to the King of the Jews... and the birds who saw the empty tomb on Resurrection Day!

All in all, you can't go wrong with reading this book aloud with your family. "The Animals' Easter" is a keeper.
