Camp Triple Nickel is back in full operational status after the devastating events of the last book, and all things seem back to normal operation.

Except in the mind of Sgt Sean Cavanaugh, a 19 year old vet who is suffering from PTSD and survivors guilt after living through a battle in which his whole squad was wiped out.

Gerber misses the signs until it’s too late, as Cavanaugh goes rogue, and it’s up to him and Fetterman to bring him to justice.

Another great read here, with many serious issues being brought to the surface, keeping the realism high while still delivering those great action sequences. Cavanaugh represents the wide majority of conscripts and volunteers in Nam, too young to vote or drink but being asked to kill for his country. Straight out of high school and into the green hell of Nam, to deal with his demons in his own way, back when men just drank away their bad dreams and continued to fight.

Enjoyed all of these so far, including the four Scorpion Squad books before the name change to Vietnam:Ground Zero. This one is definitely one of the better ones, it describes a soldier who loses touch after seeing so much death and wants to run the war his way so goes AWOL. He takes several South Vietnamese soldiers with him and all the equipment he can carry then sets up in Cambodia. Capt Gerber, commander of camp A-555, now has to figure what to do with this soldier that deserves the Medal of Honor for past heroics but now is a danger to the base itself.

Highly recommended, I say read these in order for better enjoyment if you are thinking you want to read the entire series. However they can be read individually without any trouble.

Truly a hero

The forgotten tales of heroes, gallery men whose feats of heroism is lost in the days of time. The proud boys who fought a war in a distance country, who did what they were told because they were to young to know better. The real heroes. They gave their lives for a country that didn't care.
Rock on

I can't believe this book has ZERO reviews, this whole series is very good. I cannot comment as a Ranger because I was just a Grunt (Infantry). But as a veteran I can believe it is very close to the real thing.

Great read!

I enjoyed this book a lot but it had a predictable ending. Give it a read and let the world know what you think.

The Captain on patrol in Cambodia yelled at the South Vietnamese soldier the course to take back to camp. “Yelled” in the jungle! On patrol! One star book.
