This sweet little book is as inspirational as its author intended. Each two-page spread is graced with an affirming thought and an astonishing, colorful, skilled piece of fiber art designed and sewn (mostly hand-embroidered) by the author. I found myself both admiring her beautiful work and filled with ideas sparked by each piece. While I wish I had many of these works of art up on my walls, her encouragement to create one’s own art is a powerful motivator. I didn’t give this book 5 stars because I found the space in the book used for a calendar—as though you might carry it around as a planner or, at least, a list of birthdays—to be wasted in a book bound this way. Spiral-binding, or leaving out the calendar altogether, would have made more sense.
