A good old fashioned Weirdumentory that collects a bunch of weird old stories I'm pretty sure everybody has read about ghosts and mystery ships and The Bermuda Triangle etc. Excellent introduciton to the paranormal.

A neat overview of reported paranormal occurrences. A quick read, with a representative amount of cases not previously encountered. Well worth the read for those interested in the material.

Creepy and short. I especially liked the (true?) story about the German submarine U-65, supposedly cursed from its construction and haunted by a dead naval officer. The u-boat disappeared in the North Atlantic in 1918 and there was never a trace of it again.

I got this book in seventh grade from Scholastic Book Services in 1974. Some of the entries, like "The Yellow Blob of Texas", "Landing on A Strange Planet", "The Curse of Rudolph Valentino's Ring" and a few of the monster and haunting stories, chilled me back then. Now I see them for the sensationalism that they are, and enjoy this now mainly for the nostalgia factor. When I got a used copy a few years ago and loaned it to my daughter (she was in 7th or 8th grade at the time), she deemed it interesting but "corny". A sentiment I can get on board with.
