A great resource for our unit on dinosaurs!

The Exploring Dinosaurs Series consists of 10 books in each of the three volumes. Each 32-page book covers an individual dinosaur and includes a table of content, a glossy of key terms, a geologic timeline (Triassic, Cretaceou, Jurassic periods), an introduction to the author, a “kid friendly” index, and suggestions on additional resources. The first chapter of each book opens with a thrilling scene to introduce the characteristics, behavior, and habitat of the featured dinosaur. The following chapters describe the physical features, diet, and the life cycle of the highlighted dinosaur. One of the chapters also covers the location and the scientists who discovered of the fossils. This book did a great job explaining each dinosaur’s behavior and eventual disappearance of the dinosaur species. This dinosaur series features colorful artworks and real life pictures depicting these majestic prehistoric animals that once roamed earth. The visuals play an important role in supporting the content and engaging the readers. The captions provide great details for the illustrations to further reinforce the content. The material in this book is clearly presented in an easily read format for elementary and middle school students. This series offers an introductory look into prehistoric natural history that will delight any child. I would recommend this series for an elementary or middle school library.
