Tender Treason

Rate this book
Wealthy, elusive, dictatorial-Bristisher Nyles Ryland's reputation precedes him. Though his piratical scowl and blatantly ravishing eyes electrify insurance investigator Lauren Kane, she has no intention of playing this week's lover to Grand Cayman's mystery man.

While Lauren tackles Nyle's increasingly suspicious theft claim, he deploys his considerable sensuality to deter her. But is his masterful seduction intended to weaken her bitter resistance to love...or to allay her professional qualms?

I had never read a romance novel, so thought that I should rectify that gap in my education. And it was kind of fun. I will never become a regular reader of these, but I can see myself indulging from time to time.
Lauren works as an insurance investigator. She needs to fly out to a Caribbean island to interview billionaire Nyles, who has just had a very valuable stamp stolen. But one thing leads to another and Nyles becomes intent on seducing Lauren. But Lauren has had very bad experiences with men in the past and is resistant. Yet, can it be that Nyles is different from the other men she had known?
I was expecting lots of sighing and longing looks, and there was that, but it was also a lot more graphic than I expected. I realized from the moment that Lauren lost her bikini top in the ocean that I was perhaps in store for more than I bargained for in that regard. But it was all very tasteful.
