The landscape of northern Dakota impressed itself into Henry Boller's mind, and Boller discusses his day to day, and month to month, experiences within his narrative. From leaving St. Louis and ascending the Missouri River by steamboat, and eventually wintering with the Sioux, this narrative is one of the great primary sources of the period. I believe W. Raymond Wood is going to have it re-published (2008), likely by U of Oklahoma Press.
