This is a piece of history. Written at a time by someone who has had a first hand view of what happened at the time. The writing of Evan Bells is methodical and investigative. He masterfully unravels argument after argument and threadbare lays bare the shambolic affairs of the British administration which callously violated every principle to gobble up Punjab, and the Kohinoor. Anyone who has read this book can will get an eye opening first hand view of the affairs. I must applaud Evan Bells for writing such an incisive account of the annexation of Punjab. Brilliant.
