After recently discovering my Aboriginal Heritage and finding out Lewis O’Brien and my Paternal Grandmother were first cousins I found this book extremely interesting and informative to finding out a lot about his ancestors, some of who, are also mine.
I still have a lot to discover, but felt this book gave me an excellent insight, and a great start on my ancestral journey. A lot of stories reminded me of my own father.
A great read, even without the mutual history I imagine.

An interesting story which is more than an autobiography as it starts a long time before the author was born. The importance of ancestry to Aboriginal people is made very clear and the story of the what has become of the Kaurna people since white settlement is nicely entwined in this very personal story about Lewis' life and achievements.
