Back to claim what's his, sexy Sean Matthews is finally ready to confess the feelings he can't ignore for best friend, Cameron. In his mind, losing the man he's come to love is not an option. But little does Sean know, his newfound happiness will suddenly be threatened when he s accused and arrested for the ultimate sin...murder. Ride with author Mike Warren as he exposes the drama, unexpected surprises, mayhem and steamy sexual desires. This sweeping novel is both raunchy and mind-blowing. If you've read E. Lynn Harris or Mike Warren's first novel, A Private Affair, you will fall on love with Sweet Swagger!
Being in love is a great thing but it is always so complicated, what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Just when you think that you have everything figured out you start thinking again when you should just follow your heart. Or should you?
Sean Matthews has returned and true to form he does not know how he should go about expressing his feelings without causing confusion for everyone involved. The only thing that he is clear about is that he likes men and women both so that makes it about as clear as mud, but in Sean's mind everyone should understand because he has finally figured things out thanks to his best friend Cameron's help. To make matter's worse, now Sean has been thrown in the Stock Aide for a murder! Did he do it or didn't he? There is always drama and confusion when Sean is around but no lack of excitement!
Sweet Swagger is book two in this series and it is drama filled and action packed as Sean takes us on yet another rollercoaster ride with his lifestyle and the drama that he is bringing with it. Warren gives you details into these characters that have you going through the emotions with them and rooting for love and wishing for people to just leave the book so that everyone can just be happy. You meet some new characters in this book and they work well with the ones that carry over from the last book, A Private Affair. I love Warren's writing style and I am definitely look forward to reading more from him in the future.
Sweet swagger is the follow up to “A Private Affair. I love the way this book starts from the exact sentence that “A Private Affair” left off. If part one is homosexuality 101 then that makes “Sweet Swagger” homosexuality 102. This book is grittier, more descriptive then its predecessor and will have you looking for more. I love the way Mr. Warren speaks directly to the reader, which leaves no room to question; what is he trying to convey to the reader.
Sean Matthews is back with a vengeance. Sean is out the closet and wants Cameron to his self. What is the problem you ask? Well it is Cameron’s wedding day and he is marrying a woman no less. This is what we have all waited for to find out Cameron’s response to Sean declaration of love as he stands at the alter preparing to say his vows before God, family, friends etc. No I am not going to spoil it you MUST read to found out Cameron’s answer. We follow Sean along with the many trials and tribulations of his complicated life. We’re introduced to some new characters that bring the story to life. Jamaal is back and even worst then in part 1. Jamaal still has an ax to grind, and will stop at nothing to bring Sean down. Secrets are revealed that will have your head spinning.
Author Mike Warren does an awesome job bringing this story together. I look forward to reading more of his work in the future with his unique style of writing.
As "A Private Affair" concluded, Sean Matthews stood before God, family and friends and professed his love for his best friend and fellow Army mate, Cameron. That profession is the first of a boatload of drama to follow including a stalker, hidden agendas, love, life, death and many more turns of Sean's sexual revolving door.
"Sweet Swagger" was a very quick read, though it has less of a storyline and direction of its predecessor. Again, the editing was lacking. Sean celebrated his 25th birthday in "A Private Affair," yet he was 24 at the beginning on this novel. Readers are finally given the name and age of his son Lil Man. But that only creates another problem as his age doesn't jive with the information from the previous book. I'm not even going to get started on the punctuation, or lack of. I don't mean to harp on this, but I am beyond tired of poorly edited books.
That said, I think Mike Warren has a story to tell, that there is talent there, but...he needs some help in the form of a developmental editor to strengthen his strengths and weaknesses, focus his writing and do away with the unnecessary and unrealistic. Personally, I'd like to see him revisit the "organization" in another novel. There's a lot that can be done with that.
This book was another hot mess but I did find some things enjoyable. I don't own book three and won't be buying it so unless I can get it from the library I won't finish the trilogy. The guilt Sean feels over his wife's passing is hard for me to buy. That he would be so torn up was a joke. But the most ludicrous plot point was Sean hooking up with Jamaal's posse and just willy nilly join in on an orgy. I was shocked that Sean was so willing to let Jamaal fuck him. I did like the attraction between Sean and Mike. Don't quite see how Cameron is the love of his life but oh well.
Not sure how factual this is but according to the author when a man's prostate is stimulated it sweats and makes the ass wet and juicy. I've heard it all!

Sweet Swagger. The book was ridiculous. I recently joined a queer book club and this was our second read. It read like a low rent version of the TV series Noah's Arc. I was so stupid. I had the killer figured out by the ninth page. The implausibility of the story still has me shaking my head but I can't say that I regret reading this book because the sheer lunacy of it snapped me out of the funk I had been in.
While this installment of the series was a quick and easy read, it fell short in a few areas. Some parts of the story are predictable... Some unrealistic (especially the end)... And some felt rushed (maybe because the author is leaving ideas to be explored in the next book?).
I'm not really moved to read the next installment, but I will in hopes that the story evolves in a better way.
Back to claim what's his Sean Matthews is finally ready to confess the feelings he has for best friend, Sweet Swagger exposes the drama, unexpected surprises, mayhem and steamy sexual desires. This novel is both raunchy and mind-blowing, but never the less a very good story to read. Remember to read it with an open mind.
This book rocked, while I had a suscipion who the killer was, the red herring evidence was credible. Not sure I bought the way the people in the Sir and his bois/lovers all got together. and a lot of coinidences in bringing them to Sean Matthew attention.
