The next Indigo Wilde and this time we eat ice cream, go to the Jungliest Jungle, and see a different side to someone! Fun!
I was so excited when I saw this book over at one of my libraries! I was curious what adventures would be next for Indigo and her little brother and her family!
In this one Indigo meets a moon bear and has to go to Jungliest Jungle/Unknown Wilderness to find her parents! Yep, we are finally going to the Unknown Wilderness and YES we will finally meet those mysterious parents who constantly leave their kids alone at home (if you can read my tone right you know that I am not happy with parents like this).
It was fun to see Indigo travel through the Unknown Wilderness with her brother and the moon bear. I loved seeing what lived in the land, loved seeing them eat marshmallows and listen to tunes, loved meeting the various creatures, and so much more. At times I just wanted to step into the story and travel alongside of Indigo. It was all just so exciting and fun!
I had a suspicion about the ice cream, so I was already going NOPE when they got near the ice cream place. I mean, it was just way too obvious and there were plenty of hints so I don’t think it is a spoiler. I mean, we got toothpaste. We got warnings. Someone else also said NOPE. What more do you want. XD
I did love the villains in this book, they were exceptionally evil and creeped me out a lot. Haha. It was fantastic. I love it when someone writes a good villain.
Biggest surprise was that neighbourhood lady who was always so nosy and annoying. She started off pretty annoying, but at the end of the book she became one of my favourites. I love the big change and I hope that we see more of her in future books, I am so curious about her new life.
And I also still love and adore that this book has coloured illustrations! That is quite rare for children’s/MG books so I am definitely giving bonus points to this book for that. The colours were oodles of fun and I love the style of the illustrations.
Plus, I am still amazed at the house and how it manages to grow on its own and get bigger and more interesting. I do wonder why the neighbours don’t see it, but maybe that has to do with the whole it being magic and not so much with people not observing. Believe me, if my neighbours house suddenly turned blue and oh yes much bigger, I would notice. It would stand out in the colours of the houses now.
All in all, I really had tons of fun reading this one and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Hopefully, this time an adventure with both Indigo and her parents. I would love to see more of the world.

Indigo Wild und ihr kleiner Bruder Quick haben ihr letztes Abenteuer gerade erst erfolgreich gemeistert, da kündigt sich auch schon das nächste an. In dem neuen Paket, das ihre Eltern geschickt haben, befindet sich eine weitere vom Aussterben bedrohte magische Kreatur: Die riesige geflügelte Mondbärin Kallisto. Von ihr erfahren die Kinder, dass ihre Eltern in dem dschungelisten Dschungel der Unbekannten Wildnis spurlos verschwunden sind. Zusammen mit Kallisto machen sich die Geschwister sofort auf die Suche nach den beiden. Doch schon ihre Reise durch das magische Portal verläuft nicht ohne Komplikationen. Ihre extrem neugierige Nachbarin Madame Grau landet mit ihnen in der Unbekannten Wildnis und auch dort erwarten die Drei eine Menge Herausforderungen und Gefahren. Ob es den Geschwistern wohl gelingen wird, ihre Eltern zu retten?
Es handelt sich hierbei um den zweiten Teil der „Indigo Wild“ – Reihe. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht zwingend erforderlich, die Bände können problemlos unabhängig voneinander gelesen werden. Um aber in den vollen Genuss der Bücher zu kommen, empfiehlt es sich, ihre Chronologie einzuhalten.
Da mir der erste Band im vergangenen Jahr so viel Freude bereitet hat, musste natürlich auch sein Nachfolger unbedingt bei mir einziehen. Ich war unheimlich gespannt, was mich wohl erwarten wird und ich wurde zum Glück auch nicht enttäuscht.
Pippa Curnick hat mal wieder ein hinreißendes Kinderbuch ab 8 Jahren gezaubert, in dem es so aufregend, lustig, bunt und verrückt zugeht, dass man daraus gar nicht mehr auftauchen möchte. Ich kann euch versichern: Langeweile kommt an keiner Stelle auf, im Geleebohnenweg Nummer 47 mit seinen vielen außergewöhnlichen Bewohner*innen ist einfach immer etwas los. Dieses Mal halten wir uns zwar nur recht kurz dort auf, allerdings tut das der Lesefreude keinerlei Abbruch. Mit der Unbekannten Wildnis, in die es uns schon nach kurzer Zeit gemeinsam mit Indigo Wild, ihrem gehörlosen Bruder Quick und der Mondbärin Kallisto verschlägt, hat die Autorin ebenfalls einen einzigartigen Ort erschaffen, der vor wundersamen magischen Wesen und Monstern nur so strotzt.
Mich hat es erneut fasziniert zu sehen, was sich die Pippa Curnick alles Tolles hat einfallen lassen. Ihrer Fantasie sind abermals keine Grenzen gesetzt, hier folgt wirklich einer kreativen Ideen der nächsten. Man mag mit dem Lesen gar nicht mehr aufhören, fiebert durchweg mit den Protagonisten mit und fliegt nur so durch die Seiten.
Neben der Story kann das Buch auch optisch auf ganzer Linie überzeugen, angefangen beim knalligen Cover bis zur farbenfrohen Innengestaltung. Die zahlreichen Illustrationen von Pippa Curnick erstrahlen wie gewohnt in leuchtend schillernden Farben und sind mit viel Witz und Liebe zum Detail gezeichnet. Sie machen das Buch zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis und da es einfach so viel zu entdecken gibt, wird es zu keiner Zeit langweilig.
Fazit: „Indigo Wild – Mit Eis fängt man Monster“ ist eine fantasievolle und turbulente Geschichte voller liebenswert-skurriler Figuren, wunderbaren Verrücktheiten und großartigen Illustrationen. Ein herrlich schräges, kunterbuntes Abenteuer, das einfach nur Spaß macht und nach mehr verlangt. Mich hat auch dieser Band absolut begeistern können. Auf meinen nächsten Besuch im Geleebohnenweg Nummer 47 freue ich mich schon sehr. Von mir gibt es 5 von 5 Sternen!

For one thing, Indigo is a carer for magical creatures, and her life includes beasts like the beautiful moon bears - rare bears that are covered in stars.
It is, in fact, a moon bear who comes to inform the children that their parents have gone missing whilst exploring the Unknown Wilderness. Indigo and Quigley lose no time in setting out on a rescue mission, but the perils of the Unknown Wilderness may include a few creatures (and characters!) that they haven't quite bargained for...
This is an adventure-filled story which features colourful characters and exciting adventures. It has gorgeous illustrations, and will be a particularly good fit for those who enjoy strong and quirky female MCs like Pippi Longstocking. All in all, it's great fun - so it gets 3.5 stars.

Indigo schaut gerade ein Postkarte ihrer Eltern an, als es an der Haustür klingelt. Ein Mondbär steht davor und bittet Indigo und ihren Bruder Quick um Hilfe. Ihre Elter, das Forscherpaar Wild, ist verschwunden und es verschwindet auch immer mehr Magie und magische Wesen. Die drei machen sich auf den Weg, dem Geheimnis auf die Spur zu gehen.
Meine Meinung:
Es handelt sich hierbei um das zweite (Hör-)Buch der Indigo Wild Reihe, viele Bekannte aus dem ersten Buch, das ich auch schon gehört habe. Muss man nicht unbedingt, aber die Charaktere wurden im ersten Buch ausführlicher erläutert. Das Abenteuer legt ein ordentliches Tempo vor, es sind aber auch nur knapp zwei Stunden Zeit. Der Sprecher macht seine Sache gut, man hört ihm gerne zu. Außerdem gibt es immerwieder Geräusche und auch musikalische Unterstützung. Das Abenteuer ist schon spannend, die Chataktere sind vielseitig und magisch. Ich persönlich finde es besser, zuerst Buch eins zu hören, aber Kinder sind da flexibler und haben sicher auch "nur" mit diesem Hörbuch ihren Spaß.

Dit boek werd in juni al onder mijn neus weggekaapt door mijn twaalfjarige zoon. Na het lezen van Indigo de Wilde en de monsterpost, wist hij meteen dat hij dit nieuwe boek ook door zijn leesvingers wilde laten gaan. Laaiend enthousiast - net zoals bij deel 1- was hij en het boek mocht dus meteen mee als boekbespreking en kreeg een bijbehorende kijkdoos. Het is dan ook een kleurrijk boek met een prachtige fantasie. De tekeningen en de kleuren spreken tot de verbeelding en geven dit boek een extra aantrekkelijke dimensie voor het lezen aan kinderen. Hij gaf het een dikke verdiende vijf sterren. Een hele leuke aanrader!

Auch Indigos zweite Geschichte nimmt den Leser wieder mit auf ein kunterbuntes Abenteuer! Auf der Suche nach den Eltern Wilde wagen sich Indigo und ihr Bruder zusammen mit ihren neusten Monster in den tiefsten Dschungel. Was dort wohl sie erwartet? Auf jeden Fall eine lustige, verrückte aber auch richtig spannende Reise!

Read with my 3 year old daughter, she loved the colourful illustrations and never wanted me to stop reading. We read the last 5 chapters in one go and cheered when Indigo freed the moonbear from its cage

Amazing! I truly had to pace myself to take it all in.
The story itself is fabulous and so original, never read anything like it.
I felt homey and safe, even though it was a huge and scary adventure.
On top of that the art work is spot on. A perfect collaboration.
