Before Herbert Shaffer died, he had dedicated his latest book to Agnes, although she soon realised the dedication must not appear in the book - in case her husband were to read it. However, Herbert's literary agent, Josephine Long, who had also loved him, is happy to agree to have the dedication made.
Pseudonym of Doris Simpson, Anthea Cohen, worked as an antiques buyer, shoe salesperson, and was a state registered nurse. She lived on the Isle of Wight. She was the creator of the much beloved anti-hero 'Agnes Carmichael', a nurse who avenges wrongs by killing the culprits. She died in 2006.
This was one of those "fully satisfied reading meals". It was seasoned with multiple ingredients (characters), plots and twists and turns. A truly enjoyable mystery that you won't regret reading.
