The land echoed with the thundering hooves of Modoc ponies. In minutes they swooped down and captured the wagon train and its cargo of gold. But an Indian could not spend stolen gold in the days when Captain Jack ruled the Modoc tribe. So they buried it deep in a cave in the lava beds at Tule Lake. Now the big half-breed they called Sundance was going after it. And he swore nothing would stand in his way—not Indian savagery, the vicious gunfighters of the town named Hell, or a beautiful rancher’s woman with a roving eye.
in this 4th book in the Sundance series Jim finds himself so angry after witnessing his friend's hanging along with three others he rides to the small town of Hell Yes! And against his better judgement buys a bottle of Old Crow and drinks until the red haze of nothing matters anymore blinds him to anything but fighting. When he comes to he finds a rope around his neck and his hands tied...Saved from death by hanging by a hard scrabble rancher named Glenn Wade, Sundance rides with him to his ranch to try to talk the last 5 Modoc into coming in and going to Idaho to Chief Joseph. Gun play and gold just add to the mix as the story unfolds another good book for this awesome series.
Great read, love the books on Sunidance, lots of a action and Sundance has a big heart but is also a mean man when you make him mad of try to trick him. Thank you for a great read.
