There is power in poetry and this collection shows a full range of feelings from horror, grief, and longing and even hope. This was a wonderful collection of poetry and art. Most of the art I had never seen before and it paired so perfectly with the poems.

This is a beautifully illustrated anthology of First World Poetry. Originally published in 1992 in a different format and now reissued with a new cover.

In this centenary year of the start of WW1 this is a timely reminder of the strength of poetry in conveying the horror of ward on an epic scale.
