Rugrats is not a series that translates all that well to the written form. It's important to be able to switch between what the kids imagine is happening and what's actually happening without being all like "but actually the river was just a leaky faucet" and ruining the fun. In spite of that, I think this book does a decent job. I probably would've liked it as a kid.
