Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Workbook to Help You Identify What You Care About and Reach Your Goals by Daniel J. Moran and Siri Ming is a very interesting book. However, it was a bit difficult to read with the formatting of my advance copy; every page had the words "uncorrected proof" in the middle of a sentence.
I also wish the book had checklists or quizzes and not just reading paragraph after paragraph. The book dives into if you are feeling lost in life. Or if things are going along for you, but you're still looking for some direction. The book focuses on the premise that only you, the reader, can determine where you want to go. This book helps you figure that out, envision a clear path, and create a mindful action plan for going forward toward your personal goals.
The book invites you to be here now, accept your feelings, and notice your thoughts while doing what you care about. It focuses on helping you take mindful action.
Overall, it was a good book, but nothing really new was presented, and I wish checklists or quizzes were included.
I was excited for this book after engaging in a training with DJ Moran a couple of months ago. I listened to the audiobook and would not recommend it as an audiobook 🥲 I did not like the narrator at all.
This book combines acceptance and commitment therapy with mindfulness techniques to help you make positive changes in your life. It was a very comprehensive read with some helpful suggestions.
One concern of mine was that while it is titled as a workbook it is a text-heavy book. I received an early release which had formatting issues which may be changed in the actual release and would make the book more readable.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This workbook offers practical ways to overcome being stuck with insights on mindfulness. It's quite encouraging and makes it seem easy to overcome any setbacks. Thanks Netgalley.
