About the author

Tess Stimson is the author of fifteen novels - including international bestseller The New House - which have been translated into dozens of languages, plus two non-fiction books. Her new book, The Perfect Accident, will be published in April 2026.
A former British journalist and reporter, Stimson was appointed Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Florida in 2002 and moved to the US. In addition to writing fiction, she continues to work as a journalist and teaches reporting for media and creative writing at a university in the Northeastern US. She now lives in Vermont with her husband, and is visited intermittently by her three grown-up children whenever they need their laundry done.

Авторката е използвала много акценти от личния си живот.
Успяла е да превъзмогне обидата,болката и разочарованието си.
В същото време , разсъждава изключително трезво за нещата и има много практични неща, които да научим.
Разликата е огромна между това , което се случва с жените в България и тези в света в който тя винаги е живяла, но все пак има какво да се научи.
Мисля, че всяка жена трябва да я има и да си я припомня понякога, особено тези , които са омъжени.

I believe that Tess made some very good points about men's needs. There were moments that I, as the other woman, was totally agreeing with her.

But sometimes I felt as if she was being too mercenary and focusing on the stuff of marriage. I do believe she did this to appease her audience and I do also think they would not read what was really important if she had not been so bold.

In my opinion, if she would have toned it down a bit I would have loved the book.

Wish I had read this years ago before my husband succumbed to the mistress! There are actually some very good pointers which I could identify with after the fact, wrote in a jocular way. If I ever remarry I shall be buying this book! Lol
