The same potential for greatness lies within us all, but unfortunately, many of us allow our vision to become cloudy before eventually succumbing to the stresses of the streets. Undoubtedly, this book will inspire you to diligently pursue all of your goals, and obtain success without sacrificing your self respect or dignity in the process. You are the embodiment of the change and hope that has always inspired our race and fueled our drive to achieve great things. Yes You Can! About the author

I'm a father a husband and an African American male who also happens to be a teacher, journalist, a motivational speaker and an award winning author for Mind Candy, LLC, which is a company focused on book publishing, the development of screenplays and educational programming for our youth. Some say I have the ability to capture the pulse of the streets with intelligent and well thought out story lines. However, I believe that I just write compelling books that transcend genres and labels, ultimately providing my readers with memorable experiences. I love to read, and I hate wasting my time on a bad book. So, it's that much more important to me to give my readers their money's worth (and more) when they purchase one of my books. In the past, I have contributed articles and written for various websites and publications including The Voice, Newsday and 88HIPHOP.COM I was the Editor in Chief of content. I hold a Bachelors degree in Business Management and a Masters of Science degree in Technology Management obtained from Polytechnic University. My first novel, Nan: The Trifling Times of Nathan Jones has received various awards and critical acclaim from readers and book clubs around the world. After the successful release of my first novel, I cemented a deal with F.E.D.S. magazine resulting in a joint venture to publish my second release, Once Upon A Time in Harlem in September of 2007. The highly anticipated second installment in the Nan series, The Game of Trife, was released through Mind Candy, LLC in August of 2008, and the finale in the series, Nan: The Trifecta was released two years later. I consider myself a socially conscious individual who strives to play a key role in helping to improve the literacy rates among African American and Hispanic youth. Through my American Me “Voices of Our Youth” program, I have worked with several other organizations in an effort to decrease the high school dropout rates plaguing lower income communities. Besides my fictional work, I have written inspirational books such as The Barack in Me and Things I Wish I Knew When I Was Young Like You. Both books were written specifically for young people, with themes that cross the boundaries of gender and race. I currently teach 6th graders in a high risk area, doing all that I can on a daily basis to inspire our youth to become the leaders of the future. I believe in taking the time needed each day to make a difference!

I Am Somebody!

THE BARACK IN ME written by Moses Miller encourages, connects and conveys the importance of aiding in the success of all African American males. As a mother of two sons, my heart leapt as I felt the strength and the passion in which Moses declares a challenge for young men to examine their worth, regardless of the circumstances, living arrangements or situations that many will or have used to hinder them.

Throughout THE BARCK IN ME you feel the personification as Moses talks, not at them, but to them, offering them an olive branch of knowledge, strength and hope. In each chapter, readers will find pieces of President Barack Obama’s speeches, which Moses uses as focal points, further proving that while the young male in question may be down, struggling or a victim of circumstance, all things are possible.

If you never read or purchase another book THE BARACK IN ME is the book of all books. We have to put an end to the epidemic of defeat and destruction that's affecting OUR young brothers!

Yes We Can!!!

Moses Miller has been quietly building a reputation as one of my favorite authors. Readers may recognize him as the author of novels featuring the strong, resilient and intriguing character Nathan Jones. His newest literary work, THE BARACK IN ME, strays in another direction. Miller displays his intelligence and kindness towards our youth as he lends a helping hand. He successfully demonstrates some of the insecurities and situations experienced by many of our young AA males. He doesn’t just address these issues, he offers support and guidance as he purposely covers a lot of ground.

Miller’s prose is masculine and genuine. This refreshing book is chocked full of positives. THE BARACK IN ME is, indeed, an excellent read. Moses Miller is not afraid to speak with passionate intensity of the things that matter to him most. Moses, I see Barack in YOU!

I believe in you, can you believe in yourself?

I am not one for self-help books, but because one of my favorite authors, Moses Miller, wrote this Non Fiction Self help book for young African American Males I read it. I was blown away with Moses style of writing this “Self Help.” “The Barack in Me” is a quick informative, non-preachy read. I love the quotes from Present Barack Obama as they lead each chapter and of course the quotes are relevant to the chapter. The book is VERY inspirational.

I would recommend this book to every young male and female alike. It is my hope that this book reaches its target audience and more. The lessons in the book are lifelong practices that I hope the younger generation gravitates to. I truly hope Moses continues to write books to inspire our youths of today. I believe that Moses’ way of writing for them but not at them will reach them. I urge you, if you know of any youths - put this book in their hand, they will not be disappointed.

Mr. Miller continues to amaze me. I believe he is brilliant and will continue to entertain his fans and make new ones. As his motto/title is "The least known, last forgotten." You will have a hard time forgetting who he is when you read his books.
